Our Journey Back To Banging BODs

I am way too busy to go to the gym. It’s not easy for a wife and mother of 3 kids to find the time to squeeze a workout routine into my busy schedule.  Especially when childcare isn’t always available to me. And who is really comfortable leaving their kids at the gym daycare? No offense, but I am certainly not.

I’m a very over protective momma bear and I cannot leave my little ones with strangers. I promote healthy eating in my home; less meat, no fried food, and we drink plenty of water. We’re living in a time where looking and feeling your best is what’s in. Plus my husband and I want to live our lives as proactive as possible.  We’ve both experienced events in our lives that have caused us to slow down and put on a few pounds.   Jay ruptured both of his Achilles tendons within the last 3 years and I “as I mentioned before” gave birth to 3 children. I don’t want to over exaggerate and say I am “post” mommy and trying to get my high-school figure back. I won’t go that far but it’s been 9 months since I’ve had the twins and I’m having a hard time reaching my “snap-back” goal. Unlike my last journey with my first child, I believe I was back to my pre-pregnancy weight in 11 months. I’ve only lost a few pounds and my tummy is still holding on to the small kangaroo pouch and slight muffin top.

Since becoming a member of Kanthaka, I must say I am highly impressed. It’s so simple and easy. Just download the app, create a profile, and you have a personal trainer right at your fingertips. I’ve never partnered with a personal trainer and I was beyond nervous, simply because I had no idea what to expect. But after one session with Matthew McKenna, I knew this was something my husband and I were in need of. Matt took note of what our concerns, assessed them, and even kept in mind that Jay was still recovering from an injury.

We started off with a 5 minute warm up to get our blood pumping, then transitioned into a general workout routine. Matt knew that one of our main concerns was the extra cushion we packed on in our mid area so our workout focused on our core then transitioned into arms & legs. Our 30 minute session went quickly, we were moving the whole time. I had so much fun I forgot we were working out. I haven’t felt a burst of energy like this in over 5 years, and it’s such a relief to know that I can obtain my fitness goal at my convenience.
